Multicomponent Optimization era
Susan Murphy, a leading figure in prevention science, advanced the Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST) and sequential multiple assignment randomized trial designs to optimize multicomponent interventions for scalable impact. Larry Cohen has been a prominent advocate for evidence-based prevention and for aligning policy and system-level delivery to maximize reach while preserving effectiveness. Thomas Dishion and colleagues contributed to adaptive, family- and school-based prevention approaches that illustrate how intervention components can be tuned in real time for diverse populations. Together, their work during 2015–2023 has intersected with patient engagement, health literacy, and technology-enabled delivery to promote user-centered uptake and system-wide scalability.
